You may have heard about the amazing health and healing benefits of turmeric.

Here is an easy recipe to make you own turmeric ‘golden’ latte to enjoy at home. Save on that $6 price tag at the local cafe!

Make sure you always use reputable sources for your spices to ensure you are getting the best quality with the highest nutritional value. Conventional herbs and spices that you commonly find at the supermarket are frequently irradiated (meaning they are subject to radiation) to prolong their shelf life. Here are the cinnamon and turmeric that I always buy.

And don’t be tempted to skip on the black pepper in this recipe. It actually helps your body absorb the active ingredient curcumin in the turmeric meaning you get more of the health benefits.

Enjoy your cuppa!

Recipe Notes

You can use any type of milk in this recipe (cow's, almond, coconut, soy) but I find that almond milk gives the best flavour.

The coconut oil is optional but it makes the drink deliciously creamy and helps keep you fuller for longer. Perfect if you have a busy morning.

This isn't a sweet beverage. If you need some sweetness try adding some honey or rice malt syrup to taste.

I usually make up my own almond milk to use in this immediately prior. Add 20 grams of raw almonds to the bowl and mill for 10 seconds on speed 9. Add 200 mL of filtered water and blend for 1 minute on Speed 9. Follow the rest of the steps as described above.
