Being a mum is really really hard work most days. And more so on days when your children have trouble sleeping and you’re up more times in the night than you can remember.
I recently went through a very tough couple of weeks with my youngest and took some time out to have a listen to this wonderful podcast on self care.
Too often we feel guilty and are made to feel self indulgent and selfish for doing something for ourselves. This podcast is a wonderful reminder that this isn’t the fact. Take some time out to do something for yourself every day. Even if it’s just a 5 minute shower in peace, sometimes that’s all that you need.
It’s the oxygen mask analogy. You can’t help other people if you don’t help yourself first!
